Boogies

I am so entirely, reidiculously grossed out by boogers, snot, and the like. Anyone who knows me, KNOWS! I gag at the thought of a slimy straggler, or a danling drip. I'm gagging right now just thinkig about it. My own booggers are at best- OK, manageable. Anyone else's are just- repulsive. But....
How then, do I love Payton so much more at the end of today, which I have spent attacking his ever slime-filled nose every time he turns around? It baffles me. I don't even gag- I know, impressive. It's gross, yes, but for some weird reason it doesn't bother me. Don't get me wrong- I don't love it. I'm not ready to become 'queen boogie sucker' but I just don't mind. Once today he even laid his sweet head on my shoulder. As he rested I noticed his 'drippage,' and thought about how icky it was, but decided a little snot on my shirt was well worth it for a little cuddling. It's still there.
My, how my ability to love has changed! I still gag at the thought of anyone else's boogs, but for now, I'll take wiping his, and be SO thankful that it's my job to love him, just like this. :)
